How do I compress an image online?▾
Upload JPG, PNG, or WebP, choose quality, and click Compress images. After processing, download the result.
Are images uploaded to the server?▾
No. Images are read and processed locally in your browser through the Canvas API.
Which formats are supported?▾
Main formats: JPG, PNG, and WebP. You can keep the original format or export to JPEG, PNG, or WebP.
What quality should I choose?▾
For most JPEG/WebP images, start with 75–85%. Lower quality means a smaller file but more visual artifacts.
Why does PNG compress poorly?▾
PNG uses a different compression type and may not shrink much through the Canvas API. For photos, WebP or JPEG is often better.
Is transparency preserved?▾
PNG and WebP can preserve transparency. JPEG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are replaced with the chosen background.
Why did the file get larger after compression?▾
This can happen if the source was already optimized or the output format is a poor fit. Try WebP, JPEG, or lower quality.
Are EXIF and metadata preserved?▾
When processing through the Canvas API, metadata and EXIF are usually not preserved. Verify separately if they matter.
Can I compress several images at once?▾
Yes. Upload several files. Editing and preview work on one active file; switch via the thumbnail strip. Compress the whole queue and download a .zip archive.
Why does the large upload area disappear after upload?▾
After the first upload, focus moves to editing the active image. Add files with the Add button in the thumbnail strip.
How do I switch between files?▾
Click the thumbnail of the file you need in the horizontal strip above the preview. The active file is highlighted with a border.
How is compression different from format conversion?▾
Compression focuses on reducing file weight. Format conversion is for changing file type, for example PNG to WebP or WebP to JPG.
Do I need to register?▾
No. The tool works immediately and does not require registration.
